God's Calling Through Personal Experience
Before reading our five mission statements, please know two things:
First, we truly feel that our mission statements hold truth in God's calling for us. We are blessed to answer this call to service in Christ's name. Second, our mission statements are based in our own personal experiences, which is why it feels even more like a calling from our Lord. Our own experiences with homelessness, disasters, and the repeated loss of young lives makes us more dedicated than ever to answering the call.
Mission Objective 1: In accordance with a calling from our Catholic faith, we aim to serve those facing food insecurity in the Appalachian region of the United States by traveling throughout the region, delivering meals to food banks, food pantries, churches, shelters, and assistance centers. This objective is completed through "Operation Food Fight"
Mission Objective 2: In accordance with a calling from our Catholic faith, we aim to serve those facing food insecurity locally in the Berkeley County region of West Virginia. We set up tables numerous times throughout the year, and freely provide food items to those who are below the poverty line facing food insecurity. This objective is completed through "Saint Anthony's Table."
Mission Objective 3: In accordance with a calling from our Catholic faith, we aim serve those made vulnerable by natural disasters in the Appalachian region of the United States. This includes the delivery of critical supplies in times of crisis, and ongoing support during the recovery phase of the region affected. We also deliver emergency supplies to the homeless who are at risk due to lack of shelter. This objective is accomplished through our operation “Front line."
Mission Objective 4: In accordance with a calling from our Catholic Faith, we aim to serve those who struggle with addiction in the Appalachian region of the United States. We provide resource bags that convey a message of hope and urgency to those who struggle with addiction, and directly provide them directly with sustenance that is aimed at easing the burden of addiction. This objective is accomplished through our operation “November”
Mission Objective 5: While carrying out the duties for our first four mission objectives, we also aim to spread the Catholic faith through a variety of ways. These ways include distribution of Catholic literature, talking to people about our faith, and relating everyday topics to scripture on social media platforms. We also take measures to uphold the sanctity of life. These objectives are accomplished through our operation “Blue Yonder Outreach.”
